San Francisco’s Japantown is one of only three remaining in the U.S.. Next to Japan Town is the famous The Fillmore, which is a concert venue located in the Western Addition. It gained fame and popularity in the 1960's under concert promoter Bill Graham's management. In recent years the Japantown-Fillmore area has seen a wealth of Japanese architecture next to the classic Victorians and a rebirth of African-American culture.
